Noteworthy Nonfiction

I am so excited about a collection of read aloud books that I have curated with AKJ Education!  I believe in the power of read alouds throughout our lives (my daughter and I currently read Brene Brown to each other when we find particularly juicy parts that inspire us) and I have created a set of read aloud books for grades PK through 6.  The PK set is perfect for Transitional Kinder.

I was swept away by the fabulous nonfiction books available that we can read aloud to our students to help them fall in love with reading, to inform and entice them about interesting subjects and for modeling comprehension strategies and reading skills. I routinely use read alouds in my work with students when teaching reading strategies.  Each book set comes with lessons I have specially designed to accompany each collection.

We all need help with reading skills in our lives. I just gave a short 'lesson' to my doctoral students on skim reading.
